Sports physiotherapy is designed to treat the pain and injuries that occur as a result of physical activity and / or impairing the practice of a sport. It is aimed at both beginners and athletes. Because of his good knowledge of sports and related activities, the physiotherapist is well equipped to understand and treat the problems of active people!

HOW IS THE SPORT PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT?

Sports physiotherapy begins with an assessment that will allow the therapist to identify the cause (s) of the problem. Thereafter, a specific treatment plan will be established, both based on the injury and the specific sport that caused it. The goal of the treatments will be to treat the pain, but also to help the athlete to resume his activity, quickly and sustainably.

SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY : A PERSONALIZED APPROACH

In addition to variations according to the type of injury and the sport practiced, sports physiotherapy treatments are adapted to the needs and objectives of each individual. Sometimes the injury occurred as a result of trauma. Other times, it is caused by overuse of the body (inadequate management of the training load: frequency and / or intensity too high) or by non-ergonomic execution of certain movements. The therapist will be able to adapt to the context of the onset of symptoms to provide the most appropriate treatment and the best possible advices.

SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY AND TRAINING

Whether the pain was caused by a biomechanical dysfunction, a lack of muscular control or overtraining, the physiotherapist will guide his client towards a good planning of the return to training so that it is compatible with the stages of the rehabilitation . If necessary, the therapist will work with the coach to ensure that his client can resume his activities quickly and safely.

CONTEXTS OF INTERVENTION SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY

The sports therapist can be useful in different contexts. First, he can intervene directly with the active person who has injured himself while practicing a sport. He can also monitor the athlete who has specific goals (competitions, races, etc.) by treating small injuries that occur during training and reviewing the actions and techniques that will promote the best possible biomechanical efficiency and optimize the performance. Finally, he can cover sports events by providing advice and responding to injuries.
